One professor at Univ of Victoria in Canada is seeking new graduate students who would be able to commence their studies in either September 2008 or January 2009 and are interested in research in the following (and related) areas:
* multimedia (i.e., image/video/audio) signal processing and coding
* wavelets, filter banks, and multirate signal processing
* efficient software-based implementations of signal processing algorithms
* JPEG 2000 and other multimedia coding standards
