MY SMILE

I can never smile when he walks by
The only smile for him is when I smile inside
The only smile I have is one no one sees
My smile is something only I can feel
When he's not around, my smile dies
My smile becomes empty, a fake, a lie
I smile to myself
Thinking of his face
I smile when I fantasize being in his warm embrace
This smile will never go away
As long as it is for him
But then I'll only truly smile when the lights are dimmed
When can I show that I'm smiling for you?
Only God knows when, only God knows the truth
