Every night, over 40,000 children living in rural northern Uganda walk nto Gulu and other urban centres.
What for? To sleep, and to stay alive.
You see, to stay home in the countryside is to risk abduction by the rebel army and be forced to fight as child soldiers in northern Uganda's 19-year civil war.
But that's only the half of it. Every morning they retrace their steps home.
That's hard to imagine. And that's why two people have decided to walk into downtown Toronto every night and walk home at sunrise every day in July.
Why are they doing this? To tell the story of these courageous kids.
